Intel is urging notebook and PC manufacturers to adopt its latest CPUs. Surging demand for AI computing power strains supplies, Nikkei Asia reported.
The chipmaker asks partners in the U.S., China, and Taiwan to increase use of 18A process CPUs, available since late last year.
Supply of Panther Lake and Wildcat Lake CPUs is better than older models. Intel aims to regain its lead in advanced chipmaking amid the AI race, having lagged TSMC.
Intel partners with Tesla and SpaceX's Terrafab project to revive its foundry business.
