Bond.az reports that British grocery inflation eased to 3.1% in the four weeks to May 17, marking its slowest rate since December 2024, according to data from Worldpanel by Numerator.
The decline from 3.8% last month comes as the full impact of the Iran conflict has yet to reach supermarket prices. Grocery sales rose 1.5% year-on-year, suggesting shoppers bought fewer items.
Prices rose fastest in chocolate confectionery and fresh unprocessed fish. The steepest declines were in butter and spreads, sugar confectionery, and household paper products.
