WESTERN AUSTRALIA - Greatland Resources Limited (ASX:GGP, AIM:GGP) has received primary environmental approval from the Western Australian Minister for the Environment for its Havieron gold-copper project.
The approval under Part IV of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 follows a recommendation from the WA EPA. The company previously obtained federal environmental approval in April 2026.
Greatland targets a Final Investment Decision for Havieron in the June 2026 quarter. Tendering and early works, including boxcut installation and underground development, are underway.
Havieron is an underground mine supplying ore to the Telfer processing plant. It is expected to produce about 270,000 ounces of gold per annum over an initial 17-year mine life.
Managing Director Shaun Day called the approvals 'an important milestone' for the project.
