A major theft has occurred at the Lalique Jewelry Museum in Wingen-sur-Moder, eastern France.
Unknown individuals stole jewelry worth approximately 4 million euros from the museum.
"About 20 pieces of jewelry were stolen. The damage is estimated at several million euros, likely around 4 million," a source close to the investigation said.
The theft took place at 5:30 AM local time. The criminals headed straight to the hall where the jewelry was displayed.
Although the security alarm was triggered, the thieves could not be stopped. A cleaning worker was the first to arrive and immediately notified the police.
Notably, after a theft at the Louvre Museum in October 2025, the Lalique Museum had been placed under "special surveillance."
