WISCONSIN - Invinity Energy Systems plc (AIM:IES) announced Sunday the sale of a 2 MWh battery system for a U.S. Department of Energy-funded project in Wisconsin.
The battery will be installed at a tribal facility on the Bad River reservation in Ashland, Wisconsin, as part of Project VITALITY, which has received $4.7 million in funding from the U.S. DOE.
Invinity expects to receive $3.36 million from the grant to manufacture and deliver the battery and support development of its Endurium Enterprise product in the U.S. Delivery is planned for next year.
The project will demonstrate vanadium flow batteries in commercial and industrial applications through a microgrid. Data will be shared with the DOE's rapid operational validation initiative.
