On June 23, the Prosecutor General's Office hosted an event to mark the Professional Day of Civil Servants. The event was attended by management, staff, and veterans of the prosecution bodies.
First Deputy Prosecutor General Elchin Mammadov congratulated participants and noted that the United Nations declared June 23 as UN Public Service Day. He added that President Ilham Aliyev's decree of May 25, 2006, established this date as a professional holiday in Azerbaijan.
Mammadov highlighted the exceptional contributions of national leader Heydar Aliyev to the development of civil service and noted that reforms under President Aliyev have improved transparency, professionalism, and citizen satisfaction.
Deputy Prosecutor General Heydar Mammadov emphasized the contributions of civil servants in combating crime, protecting human rights, document management, human resources, finance, and IT.
In Azerbaijan, there are 27,000 civil servants, 31.4% of whom are women. In the prosecution bodies, 624 civil servants work, 39.4% of them women. Participants expressed gratitude to President Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for their attention to civil servants.
