US apartment rents rise 0.2% in May

U.S. apartment rents rose 0.2% in May to $1,737, with all five regions posting gains. San Jose led monthly, San Francisco led annually.

U.S. apartment rents increased to $1,737 in May, up 0.2% from April, marking the sixth consecutive monthly gain.

Annual rent growth remained at 0.7%, unchanged from April. All five U.S. regions posted monthly increases, led by the Northeast and Pacific at 0.3%.

San Jose led metro areas with 1.2% monthly growth, while San Francisco posted the strongest annual gain at 8.4%.
