LONDON - Young & Co.'s Brewery P.L.C. announced the appointment of Sonita Alleyne as a non-executive director, effective from the conclusion of its annual general meeting on July 7, 2026.
Alleyne currently serves as a non-executive director of Wickes Group Plc, where she participates in audit and risk, nominations and remuneration committees, and chairs the Responsible Business Committee. She is the Master of Jesus College, Cambridge.
Her previous board positions include membership on the Council of Management of the British Board of Film Classification from 2009 to 2019, where she served as chair of the Council of Management in 2019 and chair of the Remuneration Committee from 2016 to 2019. She chaired the Radio Sector Skills Council from 2008 to 2012, served as non-executive director of Archant from 2012 to 2016, and was a trustee of the BBC Trust from 2012 to 2017.
Alleyne also held positions as a non-executive director of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and was a member of the National Employment Panel and the London Skills and Employment Board. She co-founded the production company Somethin' Else, where she served as CEO and worked as a journalist and broadcaster. She received an OBE for services to broadcasting in 2003.
The company stated that no additional information is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 6.4.8R regarding the appointment.
