Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov stated that the rapid development of artificial intelligence and data centers is driving up electricity demand, while existing grids are not fully prepared for this growth.
Speaking at the 31st Baku Energy Forum, he emphasized that the key issue is not just generating capacity but also the grid's readiness to integrate renewable energy.
He highlighted the Central Asia-Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor project, where strategic partnership agreements were signed by the presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan in Baku.
The Trans-Caspian energy corridor will develop the Middle Corridor as a green energy bridge linking Europe and Asia. Azerbaijan aims to increase the share of renewable energy to 43% by 2035.
