The Ministry of Health has issued a warning to Azerbaijanis planning to travel abroad regarding Ebola. The ministry stated that Ebola is not endemic to Azerbaijan and the risk of spread in the country is currently low.
According to the Center for Control of Especially Dangerous Infections, the disease is mainly recorded in certain regions of Africa and is local in nature. According to international data, the likelihood of a large-scale epidemic spreading to other regions is currently limited.
The virus is transmitted through close contact with the blood or other bodily fluids of infected animals or humans, not through everyday social contact. Therefore, the real epidemiological threat to the population is considered low.
Epidemiological surveillance measures are continuously implemented in the country. Individuals arriving from at-risk countries or those who have been in contact with suspected cases are placed under medical observation. Necessary laboratory facilities and test systems are available at the Center for Control of Especially Dangerous Infections.
No additional restrictions or special measures are currently required. Citizens are advised to follow general hygiene rules during international travel and monitor information from official sources.
