Large-scale work is underway to restore drinking water and sewerage infrastructure in the liberated territories.
According to Oxu.Az, this was reported to journalists by the Azerbaijan Water Resources Agency (ADSEA). One of the largest water supply systems operates in the city of Khojaly (Xankəndi).
The city is supplied from the Khalpali (Xəlfəli) river, main water pipelines, and 15 sub-artesian wells. There are 104 km of water network, two water treatment plants with a daily capacity of 16,000 m³, reservoirs with a capacity of 15,000 m³, and 67 km of sewerage network. Currently, 3,264 subscribers are served.
In Shusha, the water supply is provided through a system fed by the Lesser Kirs (Kiçik Kirs) and Zarıslı sources. There are 34.5 km of water network, 27.5 km of sewerage lines, and a water treatment plant with a daily capacity of 5,000 m³. 535 subscribers and 30 consumers use water services.
In Khojaly, Askeran, Khojavend, Hadrut, and Agdere, existing water sources have been restored, new water lines laid, additional sub-artesian wells drilled, and modern wastewater treatment plants installed.
Currently, stable water supply services are provided for government agencies, organizations, and the settled population in the cities and towns of the region.
