Bond.az reports: Amkor Technology announced it is working with Advanced Micro Devices on packaging AMD's chips. The company acquired additional land in Arizona, planning to start production in 2028.
Modern data center chips, such as those from AMD and Nvidia, consist of multiple chips packaged together. Packaging has become a key bottleneck in chip production.
Amkor is moving into advanced packaging through a partnership with TSMC, offering older technologies at its Arizona facility. It also works with Nvidia and Apple.
CEO Kevin Engel said: "We're moving up the value chain. We're more integrated with customers."
The company expects revenue of $8.5-9.5 billion by 2028 and $11 billion by 2030.
