Bond.az reports that Australian stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Gold, Metals & Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sydney, the S&P/ASX 200 lost 1.26% to hit a new 1-month low.
Top performers: Technology One Ltd (ASX:TNE) rose 7.09%, Stanmore Coal (ASX:SMR) added 4.40%, Alcoa Corp DRC (ASX:AAI) was up 3.14%.
Worst performers: Tuas Ltd (ASX:TUA) fell 13.11%, Guzman Y Gomez Ltd (ASX:GYG) declined 8.98%, Greatland Resources Ltd (ASX:GGP) was down 5.87%.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 855 to 274, with 384 unchanged.
The S&P/ASX 200 VIX was up 4.20% to 13.99.
Gold futures fell 0.25% to $4,474.05/oz, crude oil dropped 0.96% to $103.01/barrel, Brent oil fell 0.78% to $110.11/barrel.
AUD/USD was unchanged at 0.71, AUD/JPY fell 0.09% to 112.95. The US Dollar Index futures was flat at 99.25.
