Bond.az – Canada stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Healthcare and Consumer Discretionary sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite lost 1.27%.
The best performers were Bird Construction Inc. (TSX:BDT), rising 14.21% to 58.35. Strathcona Resources Ltd (TSX:SCR) added 6.92% to 48.49. Stantec Inc (TSX:STN) gained 6.49% to 106.39.
The worst performers were Curaleaf Holdings Inc (TSX:CURA), falling 13.15% to 4.69. Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX:WDO) declined 11.42% to 27.14. Taseko Mines Ltd (TSX:TKO) was down 9.90% to 9.46.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 636 to 351; 67 ended unchanged.
Bird Construction Inc. (TSX:BDT) rose to all-time highs. Strathcona Resources Ltd (TSX:SCR) rose to 3-year highs.
The S&P/TSX 60 VIX was up 1.77% to 15.50.
Gold Futures for June delivery fell 2.94% to $4,547.75 a troy ounce. Crude oil for June delivery rose 4.53% to $105.75 a barrel. July Brent oil rose 3.46% to $109.38 a barrel.
CAD/USD was unchanged at 0.73. CAD/EUR was unchanged at 0.63.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 99.22.
