European stocks opened lower on Wednesday, as investors awaited Nvidia's earnings report.
The Stoxx 600 fell 0.1%, Germany's DAX 0.4%, France's CAC 40 0.3%, and the UK's FTSE 100 0.4%.
Nvidia, a leader in AI semiconductors, will release its quarterly results after the Wall Street close today.
Nvidia's rise has been fueled by big tech spending on AI infrastructure. Its results are a key indicator for the AI industry.
Meanwhile, the US-Israel campaign against Iran could cause inflation due to the Strait of Hormuz closure. About a fifth of global oil flows through this strait.
The Eurozone's final April CPI is due later, while UK inflation eased.
Markets expect the European Central Bank to raise interest rates. Government bond yields have risen recently but selling has cooled.
US-Iran talks continue. Two Chinese tankers exited the strait today.
