Alphabet's Google on Tuesday embedded AI agents directly into its search box and rolled out a faster, cheaper version of its Gemini model at its annual I/O developer conference.
The moves aim to counter rivals Anthropic and OpenAI in the enterprise market.
Google also announced agents that can autonomously complete tasks like making purchases and monitoring real estate listings.
CEO Sundar Pichai said, "It's been an incredible year, a period of hyper progress."
New products include Docs Live, which helps draft documents via voice conversation, and Ask YouTube, a conversational search interface for YouTube.
Google's Gemini AI chatbot now has 900 million monthly users, more than doubling in a year.
The company also introduced cheaper AI models for enterprise customers, with Gemini Spark pulling info from Gmail and Drive to draft reports.
