Japan stocks lower at close; Nikkei 225 down 0.95%

Bond.az reports that Japanese stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Paper & Pulp, Transport and Communication sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.95%.

The best performers: Tokai Carbon Co., Ltd. (TYO:5301) rose 18.46% to 1,585.00, Nissui Corp (TYO:1332) added 10.97% to 1,315.50, and Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. (TYO:4005) was up 10.77% to 603.50.

The worst performers: Fujikura Ltd. (TYO:5803) fell 19.10% to 6,355.00, Mitsubishi Materials Corp. (TYO:5711) declined 12.10% to 5,362.00, and Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (TYO:7912) was down 11.29% to 2,895.50.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2340 to 1259, with 189 unchanged.
