Bond.az – Japan stocks were lower after Thursday's close, pressured by losses in the Paper & Pulp, Transport, and Communication sectors.
The Nikkei 225 fell 0.95% in Tokyo trading.
Top performers: Tokai Carbon Co., Ltd. (TYO:5301) surged 18.46% to 1,585.00; Nissui Corp (TYO:1332) rose 10.97% to 1,315.50; Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. (TYO:4005) gained 10.77% to 603.50.
Worst performers: Fujikura Ltd. (TYO:5803) plunged 19.10% to 6,355.00; Mitsubishi Materials Corp. (TYO:5711) fell 12.10% to 5,362.00; Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (TYO:7912) dropped 11.29% to 2,895.50.
Declining issues outnumbered advancers on the Tokyo Stock Exchange: 2,340 vs. 1,259, with 189 unchanged.
Tokai Carbon and Sumitomo Chemical hit 3-year highs.
The Nikkei Volatility index fell 1.98% to 31.22.
Crude oil (June) rose 0.29% to $101.31; Brent (July) climbed 0.37% to $106.02; Gold (June) edged down 0.05% to $4,704.15.
USD/JPY inched up 0.01% to 157.86; EUR/JPY added 0.07% to 184.97.
The US Dollar Index Futures slipped 0.08% to 98.35.
