Samsung Electronics has started shipping samples of its latest high-bandwidth memory (HBM) chip, the 12-layer HBM4E, marking what it says is the world's first shipment of such products.

Customers include major AI players such as AMD, Nvidia and Google, as demand for advanced memory chips for AI servers surges.
