SpaceX wins $2.29B Space Force contract for data network

Bond.az reports that the U.S. Space Force awarded SpaceX a $2.29 billion contract to develop the Space Data Network (SDN) Backbone.

This satellite constellation will provide secure, high-speed global data transport for military operations.

The contract requires a fully operational prototype by the end of 2027.

The SDN Backbone will feature an expanded optically interconnected mesh satellite network.

SpaceX also filed an S-1 for an IPO targeted for June 2026.
