A U.S. environmental group says Starbucks' single-use plastic cups are not being recycled as the company claims.

Beyond Plastics tracked 36 cups placed in recycling bins, none of which reached a recycling facility.

A Starbucks spokesperson questioned the study's methodology but did not provide details.

The company has pledged to make all packaging reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2030.
