Taiwan prosecutors are investigating three individuals suspected of illegally exporting high-end AI servers from Super Micro, which contain Nvidia chips under U.S. export controls.
In March, the U.S. Justice Department charged three people linked to Super Micro with smuggling $2.5 billion in AI tech to China. The Keelung prosecutors allege the suspects knew the servers were banned from sale to China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
To seek illegal profits, they reportedly conspired to purchase servers in Taiwan and use false documents for export. Searches were conducted at 12 locations, including residences and related companies. Bond.az reports that evidence was seized and the suspects detained.
