Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Glass, Machinery and Chemical sectors led shares down.

The Taiwan Weighted index lost 1.25%.

Top performers: Chunghwa Chemical Synthesis & Biotech Co Ltd rose 10%, Lemtech Holdings Co Ltd added 10%, and Micro-Star International Co Ltd gained 10%.

Worst performers: PCL Technologies Inc fell 9.98%, Alchip Technologies Ltd dropped 9.98%, and Sercomm Corp declined 9.98%.

Crude oil rose 2.26%, Brent crude gained 1.83%, while gold fell 2.52%. USD/TWD edged up 0.11%.
