Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the semiconductor and electricity sectors led shares down.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.75%.

Top performers: United Renewable Energy Co Ltd rose 10.00%, Favite Inc added 10.00%, and Plotech Co Ltd gained 9.98%.

Worst performers: Nanya Technology Corp fell 10.00%, Winbond Electronics Corp dropped 9.96%, and Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd lost 9.93%.

Crude oil and gold prices rose. USD/TWD was unchanged.
