Bond.az reports that Target India President Andrea Zimmerman said the shift to usage-based AI pricing is pushing the retailer to re-evaluate costly tools for employees.
AI firms like Anthropic and OpenAI are moving to token-based pricing, increasing costs for enterprises.
"It is forcing us to re-evaluate our strategy," Zimmerman said, noting the need to balance employee needs and demands.
She emphasized "significant investments" in providing the right tools for teams.
Target's global center in India employs about 5,600 people. The company plans to boost investment in analytics teams.
