Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has started traveling to European countries via Moldova due to aggravated relations with Poland.
According to Oxu.Az, citing "Strana.ua" on Telegram, the president previously used Poland's Rzeszów-Jasionka airport for foreign flights. However, on June 7, he went to London via Chișinău. The official reason for the route change has not been disclosed.
Nevertheless, this incident occurred against the backdrop of new tensions between Poland and Ukraine. At the end of May, Zelensky awarded a unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces the honorary name "UPA heroes".
This decision caused a conflict between Kyiv and Warsaw. In Poland, this step was called a fatal mistake, and it was emphasized that Zelensky should apologize. Deputy Speaker of the Polish Sejm Krzysztof Bosak stated that Zelensky is considered an undesirable guest in the country.
Bosak also expressed support for blocking Ukraine's accession to the EU, halting loans to Kyiv, and refusing to fund Starlink systems for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"The European Conservative" portal noted that if Poland's political leadership changes course due to the honoring of UPA militants, then Kyiv could face "bigger problems".
