Iran's Foreign Ministry on Sunday issued a statement strongly condemning the US strikes on the country's southern coast.
According to Oxu.Az citing Interfax, the Iranian Foreign Ministry's statement emphasized that Washington's "brutal attacks" violated the ceasefire regime established in the mutual understanding memorandum between Tehran and Washington.
The statement also noted that these attacks show that the US regime does not care about its obligations at all, and breaking promises is part of the nature of this regime.
"Iran emphasizes its determination to protect its national sovereignty and territorial integrity against US military aggression," the Islamic Republic's Foreign Ministry said.
Recall that earlier, the US Armed Forces launched strikes on Iranian territory. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported this.
It was stated that the operation was carried out in response to Iran's "continued aggression against commercial shipping" in the Strait of Hormuz.
US military aviation targeted Iran's military surveillance infrastructure facilities, communication systems, air defense positions, drone storage sites, and assets used for deploying naval mines.
