Bond.az reports that the U.S. military carried out strikes in southern Iran on Monday, targeting boats attempting to lay mines and missile launch sites.

U.S. Central Command described the strikes as defensive actions to protect troops from Iranian threats.

"U.S. Central Command continues to defend our forces while using restraint during the ongoing ceasefire," said Navy Captain Tim Hawkins, a CENTCOM spokesperson.
