The US military carried out new strikes overnight in Iran targeting a military site believed to pose a threat to US forces and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, a US official said.

US forces also intercepted and shot down multiple Iranian drones. The strikes occurred during negotiations to end a three-month conflict.

President Donald Trump dismissed reports of a peace deal between Iran and Oman over the Strait of Hormuz, stating the waterway would remain open.
