The Cotari Albanian-Udi Church, located in the Nic settlement of Gabala district, is one of the historical monuments reflecting Azerbaijan's rich religious and cultural heritage.
Built in 1723 with funds from local residents, the church takes its name from the Cotari neighborhood of the settlement.
For many years, this place of worship played an important role in the religious life of the Udi community living in Nic. During the Soviet era, the church was used as a warehouse.
After independence, special attention was paid to the restoration of the historical monument, and major repair and restoration work began in 2003. After the reconstruction was completed, the church was put into use in 2006.
Today, the Cotari Albanian-Udi Church serves both as a place of worship and as a symbol of Azerbaijan's traditions of tolerance and multiculturalism.
This monument, notable for its historical and architectural significance, is among the places of great interest to local and foreign tourists.
