The latest episode of Baku TV's "Retro Baku" was dedicated to the life of People's Artist Ejdar Hamidov.
Honored Artist Nahida Orujova shared memories of Hamidov's love confession. She said that years ago, while working together at Sumgait Theatre, the actor confessed his feelings, but she didn't take it seriously: "Before he died, he admitted, 'I have loved you for years.'"
He once knelt before the entire troupe and gave her flowers, but she thought it was a joke. Later, he recalled: "If you had accepted then, we would have had a family."
His creative journey was tough. During the filming of "Yoxlama," he performed dangerous stunts himself, causing great stress. Health problems forced him to live in a rural area for two years, and he twice contemplated suicide.
Despite everything, he returned to the stage. He died on September 24, 2020, due to illness, and is remembered with respect for his contributions to Azerbaijani culture.
