Croatia's economy grew 2.2% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to a year earlier, according to the Croatian Bureau of Statistics. Household spending and investment drove the expansion, offsetting weak exports and a slowdown in government consumption.
Seasonally adjusted quarterly GDP was unchanged at 0.0% from the previous quarter.
Household consumption rose 2.6% year-on-year in Q1. Investments also grew 2.5%.
Government spending edged up 0.7% year-on-year, sharply slowing from 2.8% in Q4.
Exports fell 1.6%, with goods exports down 2.3% year-on-year.
GDP in current prices stood at €21.176 billion ($24.60 billion) in Q1.
