ROME, May 28 – Bond.az reports that Italian consumer confidence recovered more than expected in May after recent declines. However, business morale fell to an 8-month low, signaling mixed conditions for the euro zone's third-largest economy.
National statistics institute ISTAT said its consumer confidence index rose to 93.4 from 90.8 in April, well above the median forecast of 90.1 in a survey of analysts.
The composite business morale index, covering manufacturing, retail, construction and services, fell to 94.1 from 95.1, its lowest since September last year.
The manufacturing sub-index remained stable at 87.9.
