Foreign holdings of U.S. Treasuries fell 1.5% to $9.348 trillion in March, driven by reductions from Japan and China, according to Treasury data.
Japan's holdings dropped nearly 4% to $1.192 trillion, while China's stash fell 6% to $652.3 billion — the lowest since September 2008.
The UK, the second-largest holder, saw a 3.3% increase to $926.9 billion. Net capital inflows totaled $150.7 billion for March.
