Today marks the 32nd anniversary of the second terrorist attack in the Baku Metro, which occurred in 1994.
On July 3, 1994, at 20:30, an explosion hit the second carriage of a train traveling from "28 May" station to "Gənclik" station. A fire broke out after the blast.
The attack killed 13 people and injured 58.
Azər Aslanov, an Azerbaijani citizen living in Moscow, was arrested. In his testimony, he claimed he received orders from Armenian writer Zori Balayan while in captivity. Aslanov was sentenced to life imprisonment.
