The Khazar District Court has sentenced blogger Ilduza Hajiyeva, known as "Arzum 9999", to 5 years and 2 months in prison for a fatal traffic accident. The court's media liaison, Judge Ramila Khazri, issued an official statement.
According to the indictment, on June 27, 2025, at 00:53, Hajiyeva was driving a Changan Qiyuan A05 on the Mardakan-Qala road when she violated traffic rules. She collided with a Mercedes-Benz, causing the death of driver Amal Malikov and severe injuries to passenger Sanubar Muradova.
After the accident, Hajiyeva fled without providing assistance or reporting to authorities. She later left the country for Germany to evade investigation. She was found guilty under Articles 263.2 and 264 of the Criminal Code.
Prosecutors sought 5 years and 9 months, but the court reduced the sentence to 5 years and 2 months, considering the lack of reconciliation with victims, the hit-and-run, and her having minor children. Both parties have the right to appeal.
