The bodies of Azerbaijani citizens who were on ships attacked in the Azov Sea have been brought to the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reported that the remains of 4 Azerbaijani citizens who died as a result of a drone attack on cargo ships in the Azov Sea were brought to the homeland on June 10.
"We express our deep condolences to the families and loved ones of our compatriots who died in the tragedy," the MFA said.
The bodies of Qismat Aliyev (born 1969) and Fuad Orujov (born 1981), who died during the drone attack on June 5, were brought to Azerbaijan. Their remains crossed into the country through the Yalama Border Checkpoint. The bodies will be handed over to their families today, and a funeral ceremony will be held.
Recall that on the night of June 5, two foreign cargo ships, 'Natra' and 'Zirkon', were hit by drones in the Azov Sea. As a result, 4 Azerbaijani citizens were killed and 4 were injured. The surviving 19 Azerbaijani crew members from both ships were brought home last night.
