On the night of June 5, two ships carrying 25 Azerbaijanis were struck in the Sea of Azov. One of the victims was Mohammad Ilham oglu Aliyev, born in 1997, a resident of Ashagi Tala village, Zagatala district.
Mohammad Aliyev's brother, Elvin Aliyev, gave a statement to journalists: "My brother had been working in this field for over five years. He was an assistant captain. I learned of his death this morning. A friend working on another ship called and gave me the tragic news. They said the body would be brought in two days. As his brother, I am waiting for him. He was married and had one child."
M. Aliyev moved to Russia from Zagatala several years ago and worked as a second officer on the ship. He was married and is survived by a young son.
