A fired driver in Baku set his former workplace on fire after stealing money. The incident occurred at an auto parts store in the Khazar district.
According to Oxu.Az, the driver, named Oruj Valiyev (pseudonym), worked for three years before being dismissed for secretly selling diesel fuel.
Seeking revenge, he broke into the store at night, stealing 520 manat in coins, 201 manat in banknotes, and $100. He then poured gasoline from the store onto the electric meter and ignited it.
The fire completely destroyed the store and its inventory. Police arrested Valiyev after an investigation.
The court sentenced him to 4 years in prison.
