Astara District Police Department conducted an operation against drug cultivation.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a hemp plantation was discovered in Hirkan National Park during a joint operation with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

179 hemp bushes were planted by Elmaddin Mammadov, a 38-year-old previously convicted individual. He was detained by police.

A criminal case has been initiated, and the suspect has been arrested. Investigations are ongoing.
