Iran to Azerbaijan: 12 kg Drug Smuggling Foiled

The State Border Service prevented smuggling of nearly 12 kg of heroin and methamphetamine from Iran to Azerbaijan. Investigation continues.

The State Border Service has foiled a large-scale drug smuggling attempt from Iran to Azerbaijan.

During border search and operational measures in the area of the "Horadiz" border detachment, a total of 11 kilograms 985 grams of narcotics (7 kg 885 grams of heroin, 4 kg 100 grams of methamphetamine) and 20 psychotropic "Metadon M-40" pills were seized.

The smuggling attempt was prevented, and operational-investigative measures are ongoing.
