A serious traffic accident occurred on the Baku-Sumgait highway. 17-year-old Zahra Mehdizadeh, riding a motorcycle, crashed into a Mercedes car that was parked on the roadside due to a malfunction.
According to Oxu.Az, citing Baku TV's video report, Zahra Mehdizadeh was taken to the hospital with various injuries. However, despite doctors' efforts, her life could not be saved.
Zahra Mehdizadeh was the daughter of renowned lawyer Farhad Mehdiyev. The father gave a statement to journalists about the incident.
"I watched the video. If there had been a car instead of a motorcycle, maybe death wouldn't have occurred. But still, the accident could have happened, because cars were also moving on the right. If she had turned right, those cars could have hit her. Parking on the left side of the road is very dangerous. Why are you driving a faulty car?! You cannot block the speedway. Someone was going to have an accident there, and it happened to my daughter," said Farhad Mehdiyev.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
