The trial of a father-in-law accused of assaulting his daughter-in-law has concluded at the Sumgait Heavy Crimes Court.
According to Oxu.Az, Tahir Guliyev, born in 1965, was sentenced to 4 years in prison.
The incident occurred in Aghaly village, Zangilan district. The man's son had serious health issues and went to Baku with his mother for surgery, leaving the father-in-law alone at home with the daughter-in-law.
Returning from work in the evening, he called her into his room and demanded sexual intercourse. When she refused and tried to flee, he grabbed her and attempted to force her. She escaped again and called her mother-in-law.
Enraged, he attacked her with a kitchen knife, snatched and turned off her phone. He then apologized and threatened to kill her if she told anyone. The daughter-in-law reported to the police, leading to his arrest.
