Murtuz Mammadov, born in 1986, who shot and killed his sister in Sabirabad, has been released from punishment.
According to Oxu.Az, a decision was made in the Lankaran Heavy Crimes Court.
The court found that Mammadov committed the act while mentally incompetent and released him, sending him for compulsory treatment.
The incident occurred in the village of Gardashkend. Mammadov obtained a hunting rifle, went to his sister's bedroom in the morning, and shot her twice in the throat while she was sleeping. He then fled the scene with the weapon.
Police detained Mammadov and handed him over to investigators.
