A man has been sentenced for stealing money from his aunt at his grandmother's house in Baku. The accused, identified as E.I., born in 1998, was tried for the theft of 8,000 manats.
The incident occurred in the Khatai district. E.I. visited his grandmother Amina's house and stole the money from his disabled aunt Gular, who lived there.
Using the stolen funds, he rented a house in Shuvelan, Khazar district, for 250 manats per day and spent the rest on entertainment. In court, he expressed remorse, stated that he had fully compensated the damage, and reconciled with his aunt.
The court sentenced him to 1 year, 11 months, and 26 days of restriction of liberty, with a curfew from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM and mandatory use of an electronic monitoring device.
