Two women have been fined for defaming a doctor in the Aghsu district.
The defendants, Gultakin Guliyeva and Asli Abasova, were found guilty of spreading false information about physician Dayanat Abdullayev, damaging his professional reputation.
The court sentenced each to a fine of 2,000 manat. A third defendant, Ulviyya Abdullayeva, the doctor's ex-wife, was acquitted due to lack of criminal intent.
The case highlights the legal consequences of defamation in Azerbaijan.
