Under the bilateral military cooperation plan for 2026 signed between the Ministries of Defense of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria, a "Working Meeting on Ensuring Internal Security in the Army" was held.
The Ministry of Defense reported that during the visit, the delegation met with Major General Azer Ibrahimov, head of the Main Department of Internal Security and Investigation. The meeting discussed the work done in the field of internal security in the Azerbaijani Army and prospects for developing cooperation.
Later, the guests visited the Military Police Department and met with its head, Major General Elgun Aliyev. They were provided with detailed information about the department's history, activities, and main tasks.
The meeting discussed opportunities for joint participation of military police teams from both countries in future exercises. At the end, mutual gifts were presented and a commemorative photo was taken.
