Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev addressed the 8th Summit of the European Political Community in Yerevan via video conference, sending strong messages to Western leaders. He emphasized the importance of the Zangezur Corridor for the Turkic world.
According to a video report by the "Haber Global" YouTube channel, President Ilham Aliyev reminded that Azerbaijan decided to suspend all relations with the European Parliament on May 1. This decision came in response to biased resolutions against Azerbaijan.
"They made decisions full of lies about Azerbaijan. This double standard is unacceptable. Azerbaijan's territorial integrity holds the same value as that of any other state," the video quoted Aliyev as saying.
The President also noted significant progress in the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process. He appreciated the European Commission's support while criticizing other European bodies, particularly the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, for attempting to sabotage the process instead of supporting it.
Aliyev referred to the historic summit in Washington in 2025, recalling that after the paraph of the peace agreement with Armenia, Azerbaijan unilaterally lifted all transit restrictions imposed since the early 1990s. For the first time, supplies of oil products, gasoline, and diesel fuel to Armenia began.
On the Zangezur Corridor, Aliyev stated: "Peace has already become a reality for us and our partners in Armenia. Another important achievement of peace is communication. Both Azerbaijan and Armenia are already seeing the practical benefits of peace."
