Tarana Taghiyeva, a resident of Shusha, was a guest on Baku TV's program "O Vaxdar" (Those Times).
She spoke about her childhood, longing for Shusha, family values, and her son Vasif Taghiyev, who showed heroism during the terrorist attack on Azerbaijan's embassy in Iran.
Tarana emphasized that in Shusha, special importance was given to girls' upbringing, family values, and national traditions. According to her, matchmakers visited their home two or three times before receiving consent.
Recalling the occupation of Shusha, she said: "We had just married. Everything was new. But when the situation worsened, we had to leave with our child. We stayed in basements for days because of bombings. We left Shusha, leaving all our wealth behind."
About her son's heroism: "On the day of the incident, I talked to him in the morning. When news of the attack spread, I called many times but he didn't answer. Finally, we video-called; he was injured. He told me not to worry. I think if my son wasn't there, many people would have died."
