The first preparatory hearing for the 10th grade student accused of shooting a teacher at the Idrak Lyceum has been postponed.
The delay was caused by the absence of the defendant's lawyer, according to Oxu Az.
Despite the lawyer's absence, the student's parents attended the hearing, and the mother, Zemfira Shirinova, was recognized as the legal representative. Judge Vugar Guliyev explained all rights and duties to the teenager and his mother.
The hearing has been rescheduled for June 17 due to the lawyer's absence.
The incident occurred in February at the Idrak Lyceum in Baku. The 10th grade student A.Sh. allegedly used his father's hunting rifle to shoot 29-year-old math teacher Shahla Kamilova at the school.
The student is charged under the article of attempted premeditated murder. If found guilty, he faces up to 10 years in prison due to being a minor.
