Kalshi has hired former FBI official Tyler Neff for its surveillance team, as part of broader efforts to ramp up safeguards on its exchange amid pressure on prediction markets to crack down on insider trading.
Neff joined Kalshi earlier in May, according to a LinkedIn post. He reports to the company's head of enforcement and legal counsel, Robert DeNault.
Neff previously served as an intel analyst on a white-collar crime squad at the FBI's New York field office. He later worked at the New York Stock Exchange, Wedbush Securities, and Canaccord Genuity.
Kalshi has increased hiring in its surveillance unit this year, bringing in executives from Morgan Stanley and Nasdaq.
The moves come as prediction markets have seen a surge in suspicious trades. Kalshi has investigated over 400 suspicious trades this year, more than double last year's total.
